Seems like many people are becoming vegetarian or the vegetarian immigrants are on the increase in western countries. Many world famous fast food chains are introducing vegetarian meals to cope with the increasing demands. Lots of questions arise about being vegetarian including the ones related to health. How healthy is it being vegetarian?
The answer to this question is a vegetarian does not eat meat and fish that are two great sources of protein. However, meat and fish are not the only sources of protein. Since beans, peas, pulse, tofu, whole grain bread, cheese and milk contain protein, it should not be unhealthy. One can have omega-3 supplements to replace what he would get from fish.So if one keeps an eye on the source of protein, being vegetarian is not unhealthy. Being vegan is different than vegetarian since it excludes more food items.
